The Rotary Drum process, or vibro finishing, consists of a mechanical process for surface treatment of technical parts in the metal, mechanical and plastic industry.

It covers the cutting and forming of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, widely used in machined parts, stampings, forgings, castings, laser cut, oxy cut and other applications within industries.

The main focus is to achieve a surface treatment according to the needs of each project, by removing burrs/sharp edges, reducing roughness of parts and polishing/fine workmanship.
The advantage of Rotary Drum process is the agility and low cost due to the high volume that can be processed in batches. In addition to these facts, the parts are with uniform finish, getting a single standard in parts and with considerable repeatability.

The search for the ideal finish is a combination of factors: machinery,abrasives, compounds, time of each process and quantity of processes to be performed on each part model.


The most commonly used devices are Rotary Drums, Parallel Vibrators , Circular Vibrators and Turbo Rotary Drums.
It is possible to combine different types of machines to improve surface treatment. Below is an example of a line of machines connected in series.
